Comunn Eachdraidh Nis plan to develop the former schoolhouse and canteen, both of which are presently derelict, in addition to extending the kitchen and museum areas within the main school building.
The need for these developments has been highlighted through feedback from visitors and by means of a recently held community consultation. The demand for this provision shows a close-knit and thriving community with a strong desire to retain services locally for the people who live and work in the area.
As part of the necessary fundraising, we are asking for your help to secure the future of our well-loved building by buying a brick, engraved with your own choice of wording, which will be seen by visitors to the building for many years to come in the form of a legacy wall inside the renovated building. By buying a brick you will be playing your part in making a dream become a reality for Comunn Eachdraidh Nis and the people of North Lewis.
The red bricks have been inspired by the Butt of Lewis Lighthouse which is also the logo used by Comunn Eachdraidh Nis. The bricks will set around the inside of the newly refurbished building.
Each little brick is a momentous kick towards our goal. The numbers are limited so get your application in as soon as possible by completing the form below or picking up a copy from us at Comunn Eachdraidh Nis.
